About Us

The 4 of us.

The 4 of us.

Hi there. My name is Aubrey and I wish I didn’t have a blog. Really. This is an outlet for my heart as I travel on this path towards meeting my little girl, Leilah Jubilee. On September 24th, my 20th week of pregnancy, she was diagnosed with Anencephaly, a fatal neural tube defect affecting the formation of the skull and brain. If she survives until birth she may be stillborn or pass within minutes/hours of birth.

My husband and I are not crushed or despaired, our hearts hurt but we KNOW that we are in the hands of a Father who is Love. Whether we see with our physical eyes a miracle or get to put her gently in His arms for eternity we know where we stand, we know He is good.

She is due on Valentine’s Day.

So you are welcome to join me on this path. Life is about community, sharing in one another’s joys and sorrows, triumphs and failures. We can’t walk this alone.

My disclaimer: I rate my blog a pg-13, I do occasionally have my sailor mouth moments and I will not sugar coat my feelings or over-spiritualize things. Yes we are in ministry but I am a human, a hurting mother and Papa God loves me in spite of it 🙂

  1. Dear Aubrey and Nick: I just read your blog and I have no words for what you are going through. But as a sister in Christ I am called to be praying for my brothers and sisters in Christ. I will be adding you to my daily prayer list. He has you and He will carry you through this.

  3. Hi Aubrey. Adrienne D’O’s Aunt Pam here. I’m so very saddened to hear about your heartbreaking news. As you well know, Motherhood can be a FIERCE love. I’m sure that you will have an amazing and FIERCE love for this beautiful daughter in her too-short journey with you. But, it’s okay to panic, to rage, and to weep. I know that God is weeping with you. Our hearts are with you.

  4. Dear Aubrey & Nick,
You won’t know me, but I spent the best part of a yr with Adrienne in Peru a few yrs ago. She was always such an inspiration and often spoke of you both x

My prayers are with you in this time of joy and heartache. You have an encouraging spirit that can only come from our Father. He has used you and even though it does not seem so now, He is using you to bless others. May your strength, your faith and your devotion remain strong. You are in my prayers.
